ELSAH, IL – Principia College Athletics is thrilled to welcome Emily Bay as the department's new head strength and conditioning coach! She will also serve as an assistant coach for the Panthers' track & field team.
Bay comes to Principia College after spending four years as a physical performance coach at Fontbonne University, where she was also the associate head track & field coach the last two years. She primarily coaches throwing events and has guided her athletes to nationals qualification and conference championships in the shot put, weight throw, and hammer. Bay graduated from Fontbonne in 2020 with a masters in Management and Leadership, and has since earned a strength and conditioning certification through USTFCCCA and a level 2 certification in throws through USATF.
"I'm delighted to have Emily join our Principia family," says Director of Athletics, Ann Pierson. "Emily comes with a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to serve our community. She is going to be such a great asset to our department as she supports all of our athletic teams."
Bay says she is very excited to begin this new opportunity. "Between my undergrad, graduate degree, and coaching experience all at Fontbonne, I am ready to challenge myself in new ways and implement everything I've learned over the years in a different environment. The community here at Principia has been more than amazing, and I have no doubt in my mind that this is a place where we can build a Division III powerhouse!"
Welcome to Principia College, Coach Bay!
