ELSAH, IL – We are pleased to announce the hire of
Greg Brown as Principia College's new Head Women's Basketball Coach.
Brown served as an assistant coach for the program for the last three seasons as he helped lead the Panthers to the team's first NCAA tournament in 2025 and first SLIAC regular season title in 2026. He also served the department as an assistant softball coach and helped recruit for many of our teams.
During the decade prior to his time at Principia, Brown was a head coach at the high school level in the St. Louis area. As the head women's coach at Lift for Life Academy from 2019-23, Brown led his team to a Missouri Class 3A State Championship in 2021 and was named State Coach of the Year that season. He was also the head women's coach at McCluer South Berkeley High School from 2014-19, where he was named the Suburban Conference Coach of the Year in both 2015 and 2018.
Athletics Director and former Head Coach of the program,
Ramiro Dominguez, says: "While serving as our assistant coach, Greg demonstrated a strong commitment to the program and a clear ability to develop and support our student-athletes. His success as a high school state championship coach, combined with the integrity and professionalism he has shown during his time on our staff, make him an outstanding choice to lead our program. I am confident that Coach Brown will build upon the momentum we have established and continue to advance our tradition of excellence. We look forward to the continued growth and success of our women's basketball program under his leadership."
Brown says: "I am excited to take on my new role leading this program forward. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to grow as a person and in faith as I guide and lead these young women to achieve their highest potential, both on the court and in life. It is my goal to continue the success of and further build the women's basketball program here at Principia College."
We also want to thank Coach Dominguez for all the tireless work he put into rebuilding the women's basketball program into a conference powerhouse, and we congratulate him on his outstanding, decades-long coaching career.
